Resident Return (subclass 155/157) visa

This visa subclass is suited to individuals holding an Australian permanent visa and wishing to renew the travel facility of their initial permanent visa after the standard 5 years duration.

Depending on the individual’s personal circumstances, the resident return visa can be granted for a duration of 1, 3 or 5 years.

Other temporary work (subclass 400, 407, 408) visa

  • Temporary Work (Short Stay Specialist) (subclass 400) visa - suitable for individuals having specialised skills, knowledge or experience that are beneficial to Australian businesses and generally not available in Australia. This visa is for short-term (generally 3 months but up to 6 months in some circumstances) highly specialised work.

  • Training (subclass 407) visa - suitable for individuals seeking participation, through a sponsor, in workplace based occupational training activities to improve their skills for a job, area of tertiary study, field of expertise or in a professional development training program in Australia.

  • Temporary Activity (subclass 408) visa - suitable for individuals having the skills to undertake specific types of work in Australia on a short-term basis. This visa subclass requires the individual to be supported or sponsored.

Child (subclass 802, 101) visa

The onshore child (subclass 802) visa and the offshore child (subclass 101) visa are suited to dependent children of a parent who is an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen to reunite with the parent in Australia indefinitely.

There are some specific age and circumstances requirements to be met for eligibility for these visa subclass.

Medical Treatment (subclass 602) visa

This visa subclass is suited to individuals travelling to or remaining in Australia for medical treatment or supporting someone in need of medical treatment already a holder of this visa. People donating an organ may also be eligible for this visa.
